The NFL regular season kicks off tonight! The New York Giants are hosting the Dallas Cowboys in the first regular season Wednesday game since the Rams defeated the Lions 44-7 back in 1948.

On a side note, the Rams face the Lions this week on Sunday, and as you can tell from my week 1 NFL game predictions, I fully expect the score to be reversed in 2012.

It is so good to have the regular season back in action! Now, the real fun begins. The fun that we fantasy football enthusiasts have been waiting for. All of our preparation and work begins to start paying dividends tonight.

Here's the latest news you need to know about for tonight's game between the Giants and Cowboys:

Giants

*-RB Ahmad Bradshaw is Probable with a minor hand injury. He'll be fine to start.

*-WR Hakeem Nicks is officially listed as Questionable with the foot injury he had surgery on back in May, but he played in the Giants preseason finale, and is fully expected to start tonight and be fine.

Cowboys

*-TE Jason Witten is Doubtful with his lacerated spleen injury suffered earlier in preseason. He is not expected to play. Now Witten is reportedly willing to sign an injury waiver that would absolve the doctors and team from any liability so he can play. But it's considered to be a real long shot that Dallas would be willing to accept such a waiver. I wouldn't count on Witten and expect him to be inactive.

*-RB DeMarco Murray is Probable with a minor wrist injury. It didn't prevent him from playing in preseason and won't be an issue at all tonight either.

*-WR Dez Bryant is Probable and will start without issue despite having a minor knee injury.

*-WR Miles Austin is Probable and will start without issue despite having missed almost all of training camp because of a hamstring injury. Dallas has been handling both Bryant and Austin with kid gloves and just making sure they are both ready for tonight's opener.

*-WR Andre Holmes is Questionable with a minor knee injury. There's no reason in the world why you should be so thin at WR that you were hoping to start Holmes.

That's it. I guess the only thing left to say is:

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Let's have some fun this season guys and gals!

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
