Each year, I pose the same question re: my 2 QB league and the appropriate way to draft - well, maybe not appropriate, but best value. I'm slotted to draft 3rd in a 10 team league with point value that of a standard scoring league plus bonuses for 300 yard passers, 100 yard rushers and receivers.

All books, magazines, and forums recommend I draft a RB with my first pick: McCoy, Charles or AP. i understand and value their opinions, but will drafting a QB this early hurt my chances of grabbing a quality RB in Round 2 or 3? Rodgers, Manning and Brees are most likely availbale... Or do I grab one of the three top 3 RBs and grab 2 QBs (at least top 10) in Rounds 2 and 3? If I can't grab 2 QBs out of the top ten, is it a RB or WR I take with my third round pick?

The aforementioned questions I debate every day as my draft nears... for me, the start of the draft is key to establishing a solid core. Middle rounds is where value can be found...

If you suggest a RB, then please rank your top 3 and if you're suggesting a QB, then rank those in order...

Thanks!

In a 2 Qb leage I would normallly say you need to take a QB but with only a 10 team league you there shoudl be some value at QB in the later rounds. At the #3 slot, if Charles is gone I'd take Manning or Brees then a RB or WR in the 2nd. Not a big Rodgers fan, his numbers have dropped since his super bowl year. I think Foles and Stafford will have a better year point wise.

There should be quite a few quality RB's/WR/s since it is only a 10 team league and others will be drafting QB's earlier than normal. Hwck if Rodgers/Stafford or Foles is still available at 2.08, I'd consider taking my 2nd QB then a RB/WR at 3.03. Only a 10 team league, RBs/WR's position is deep and will still be available where as quality QB's will not be.

Since it's 2 QB I'd get one of the big 3 QB's :

D. Brees
P. Manning
A. Rodgers

if this is a PPR league use 2nd and 3rd rounds to pick bpa PPR wise. If non-ppr then grab RB in 2nd and WR in 3rd.

good luck

Since you have to start only one RB then there will be a lot more depth at the position. I have been playing in a two QB league for over 15 years and almost, but not always, the team with the best two QB's wins it.

For me it all depends on what players go before you. The lack of PPR somewhat devalues McCoy and Charles. AP might be sitting there looking at you at the third pick. But he is on a horrible team and on the downside of his brilliant career.

I think if Manning, Brees, or Rodgers is there I grab one of them. If it were PPR, I would take MCCoy or Charles over a QB.

The other factor is that RB's tend to get injured more than QB's. QB is the safer pick.

Have to agree with James here. Taking a QB. More than likely between your 1st and 2nd picks there is probably going to be a run on QB's anyway, which is only going to leave some decent options at RB for your 2nd pick if thats what you want to do.

Manning, Brees, Rodgers for me. Although I would be fine taking any of them.

Thank you all! James/Nic - actually, I have to start 2 RBs and there is a flex sport (WR/RB/TE). Do you still think QB is the safer pick here?

the key here is the 2 QB and the fact that you have the opportunity of getting one of the big 3 - if you were picking lower in the 1st round then the plan might change. I still think QB is the way to go.
