He has to be watched in pre-season. If you notice the Jags throwing him passes, that means he will be an all purpose back. The Vikings used to use Gerhart as a PPR back. Will the Jags do the same?

Gerhart is a plodder with very little speed. The Jags had an awful defense and gave up a lot of points in 2013. They should be slightly improved in defense but not by that much in 2014. That tells me that the run will be abandoned early when they fall behind in games.

Gotta be careful here and not draft him too early folks...

Gerhart averaged 3.8 yds per carry after contact last year and has averaged 4.7 yards per carry in his 5 years in the NFL.

I am not sure how well he will do behind the Jags O line, but have a difference of opinon with James description of him as a plodder with very little speed. I think he will be a good flex play and has the potential to be a solid RB2.

Playing for the Jags may limit his potential, but he will get a lot of touches.

You are forgetting that Gerhart was the third down-change of pace back for AP. Plus, The Vikings have had a good offensive line the last few years.

I don't see Gerhart doing the same thing in J-Ville.

Now, the PPR factor with him is what I am interested in......

I stay away unless he falls to ridiculous value, like flex like value. He won't likely fall that far, so you won't see me own him much in 2014 :)

I've never seen anything that special from him. He is kind of a workhorse plodder. The real detriment is being on the Jags. How many times are they going to be in the hole and have to go to the pass to get out of it?

Certainly it's the ppr that we'll have to keep an eye on, which will make things interesting.

My gut is telling me he is going to be a steady-eddy, get you like 8-10 pts a game, but rarely having big breakout games that you get from the top backs.

I'd get him as a flex or RB2 I guess. I'm just curious as to how he'll hold up under a full load.

He's gotta fall pretty far for me as becuase we have no idea what that offense is going to be, again. Flex is a stretch if you ask me.

Same way I feel, Jeff. He is just one of those players I just won't likely own, as I'll be waiting way too long to ever see him fall to me. There are too many big names I like better all around his ADP!
