I agree. He will get many of the passing targets that Decker has left behind.

I would take him in any scoring format this season.

yep, and the great news is that his ADP can dip into the 2nd round. Many are snagging him in the low first right now, but even at the tailend of the first, he has tons of upside. I would NOT expect top 1-4RB numbers, that's dangerous thinking... one has to draft him at his ADP... but I have Ball inside my top 3RBs for 2014, in terms of year-end stats. I repeat, drafting him that high is crazy, because you don't have to.

As with Keenan Allen, the Montee Ball Show begins in September... get your tickets early!

I don't see Ball getting Decker's targets, that would be discounting Saunders and Saunders may be a better fit in the Broncs O than Decker. Ball should get similar targets to Moreno's last year, but I am concerned that it may be a little more RBBC than last year. I look for both Ball and Saunders to have good years, but my money is on Saunders to be a better selection against his ADP than Ball. Saunders may be a steal in the late rounds of the draft.

Smitty I swear your middle name is "Monte" the way you rave about this guy but at some point we have to realize Manning is not going to be the same guy at the age of 38, so that scares me about him.

Losing Decker and getting Sanders benefits the running attack for the Broncos. Sanders had been somewhat of a disappointment in Pittsburgh. He does get an upgrade with Manning of course, and has been working both the inside and outside routes with Manning. But remember, Decker has 4 inches of height on Sanders, Manning was playing jump ball with Decker in 2013, he won't be able to do that with Sanders. Sanders will have the rookie Latimer breathing down his back as well. If the Broncos were so high on him, they never would have drafted Latimer.

I think the Broncos will utilize the RB position more this season simply because they have too. Ball gets the majority of that action if he stays healthy and works on his ball control issues.

On the flipside, Sanders becomes a huge asset if Welker goes down. And if you noticed, the injury bug has been biting him the last two seasons, and he won't be fooling anyone in the secondary now that Decker is gone.

So, I think Sanders is a boom or bust guy this year, and Monte Ball has a big season if he stays healthy.

James,

I just don't see a RB picking up targets from Decker. I can see Ball having a good year and maybe a great year, but it will be by running the ball and catching approximately the same number of passes as Moreno last year.

That's why they play the game, isn't it, so we can have a healthy discussion and differing viewpoints.

I also think Sanders will have more receptions than Decker did last year. As you stated, Decker was great in the redzone and that is one area that Sanders lacks, but the Thomas guys will get the majority of the redzone targets that went to Decker.

Just my opinions.
