2009- I had earned the first pick of the rookie draft. RB’s are at a premium and the top two were Knowshon Moreno and Chris Wells. Selecting Moreno 1:01 with a few deciding factors one being the lineage of the UGA runningbacks coupled with the Bronco RB’s historically have done well, being a Cardinals fan also swayed me towards Moreno as I held true to ‘Draft with Head, Not with Heart’. Either way I would lose,

1:03 Donald Brown

1:04 LeSean McCoy

Draft Talent over Need

2014 – Earned First Pick and Sammy Watkins is considered the consensus first pick in rookie drafts. Hard to dispute, He is going to be involved; earning AP First Team All-American has my attention, when you look at the names of the only other three to achieve the honor; Herschel Walker, Marshal Faulk and Adrian Peterson. If the numbers do not lie then the odds suggest Watkins should have a stellar NFL career.

Now I’m not sure if Watkins being the only WR of the bunch has anything to do with anything but a serious need for Running Back does exists with only Doug Martin to speak of a RB2 is needed, looking at Bishop Sankey as the 1:01 with the best perceived opportunity in TEN to produce right away. There is always the wavier wire where every year we can pluck gold, this year, probably some guy named Devin Street or something?

The problem with Sankey is that coach Whizz.... has dying loyalty with his starters. If Greene comes back from his injury then Whizz... will stick with him. In fact, this was part of his downfall in Arizona, Whizz... would stay with a starter even when they way underperformed. I truly believe that is one of the reasons that got him canned.

So Stankey is one to watch in camp along with Greene to see who climbs to the top. But Greene will get the first look. Stankey will be in the mix if Greene starts though.

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
