Say what you want about Dallas Cowboys’ “Dez Bryant Rules”, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may have done fantasy owners a big favor. The “rules”, which are a set of conduct guidelines the team wants Bryant to adhere to, gives fantasy owners greater confidence that Bryant will be playing in all 16 games this season. It’s no secret that Bryant is his own worst enemy and it’s his off-the-field stuff that threatens his fantasy value. Now that he’ll have a security team around him 24/7 to assure that he doesn’t wander into places he shouldn’t be going and gets him to team meetings on time, etc., I think much of his fantasy risk has been mitigated. Bryant has been going as around the 13th or 14th WR off the board on draft day. I probably wouldn’t take him any higher than that, but I’m more at ease taking him there. Glad to see the Cowboys protecting their investment and in the process showing such a great concern for fantasy owners!

Yeah I applaud JJ as well. It's a sad state of affairs if a team has to write this out for a player. I commented on this yesterday. Part of the reason I am a waning interest in the NFL. Unfortunately it is a small percentage that give the whole a bad image.

Sorry kids but this is what happens when we start at a yound age not doing what we are suppose to as parents...wether its single parent or not. By the Dez got to the NFL...he had been empowered in Pop Warner (i'm willing to bet) High School, College wher I'm sure his eductaion was "football passed" get's to the NFL with mad skills, millions in his pocket and no value set to draw on.

As an ex-coach trust me...it's starts young, way too many fathers who couldn't cut it and are living vicariously through their kids...too many Mom's that are victims...too much...too fast...this is the result.

It's a bloody joke that a franchise has to implement this type of program just to protect their investment.

Sad...

We see this happen to so many pro athletes, alot are poor and come from broken homes, then they become great athletes and are told in high school and college how great they are with no one giving them any real life lessons, so they go through life thinking that because they are superstars, the rule of society don't apply to them so they are shocked when they get in trouble and blame their whoas on the rest of us.

How many chances have guys gotten in pro sports moving from one team to the next because someone thinks they can control or reform their attitudes, guys like Pacman Jones and Terrell Owens were such great athletes, but were cancers outside the lines.

If Jones' rules kick Bryant in the butt and force him to grow up, in 10 years when his career is over, he should thank Jones for his firm hand.

Any owner, much like a head coach know how to talk out of both sides of their mouth. Or is that donkey?
