Fantasy Football Playoff Weeks Passing/Receiving Matchups

Just like I wrote about the 2010 fantasy playoff rushing matchups, these are the passing/receiving matchups for each team during weeks 14-16. As with our other fantasy football projections, the list is exactly like the 2010 rushing matchups, with weeks 13 and 17 included off to the side for those whose playoffs start or end a week earlier or later so they can make the mental recalculation for the rankings, only these are the passing matchups based again on the "Fantasy Points Allowed per Game" formula.

 

You can see that if Josh Freeman is available on your free agent wire, or is just sitting on someone else's bench, he has a much more favorable schedule than normally backup fantasy QB's like Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, and Sam Bradford and therefore it would be better for you to have him during these playoff weeks. But just like with the RB's, don't go thinking you should trade Phillip Rivers or Michael Vick to get Freeman just because their matchups aren't nearly as good. Common sense is required. In the case of teams like the Carolina Panthers, it doesn't matter if the matchups are great when the QB is mediocre at best; inept at worst.

 

However, a WR like Tampa Bay's Mike Williams or Washington's Santana Moss might serve you better than Wes Welker, Braylon Edwards, or Jacoby Jones (WR's who aren't the studs, but have value either in name, or because of good performances so far this season) and making a trade now might be the right move to help put you in the best position to win your fantasy football championship.

 

Now is the time for you to be loading your roster (both starters and bench) with not just the best players, but the best players with the best matchups.
