Quarterbacks

*-Matt Cassel has been officially ruled OUT for week because of his concussion. Brady Quinn will start this week in his place for the Chiefs. If Quinn does well, there's no guarantee Cassel gets the starting job back when the Chiefs come out of their week 7 bye as Cassel has played poorly and he was close to being benched. I'm not big on Quinn's chances of finally being a quality NFL QB, but I'm also not big on Cassel having much fantasy value even when he's the starter. Scan your free agent wire and see if there is a suitable replacement for Cassel available for you to acquire.

*-Robert Griffin was able to practice today in limited fashion and appears to be on track to start this week despite having suffered a concussion week 5. Barring any setbacks, I think you'll be able to count on Griffin this week.

Running Backs

*-Adrian Peterson put in a limited practice today and is fully expected to be fine for week 6 despite having a minor ankle injury. He'll be fine to consider for starting fantasy lineups as you normally would.

*-As expected, Arian Foster returned to a full practice today and he will be fine for week 6 despite a minor knee issue. Ben Tate also was able to practice in limited fashion and he is looking like he will be able to play week 6 after sitting out Monday night's game with a toe injury.

*-Reggie Bush was limited in practice today because of his lingering knee injury, but he's fully expected to start week 6 without issue. Daniel Thomas was unable to practice because of his second concussion this season and he appears to be likely to sit out week 6 so expect Lamar Miller to be Bush's backup this week against a suspect Rams run defense.

*-Andre Brown missed practice again today and it's looking like he won't play week 6 because of a concussion he suffered week 5. David Wilson will be Ahmad Bradshaw's backup and reports are the Giants are going to try getting Wilson more involved in their offense going forward. We'll see as we heard this line before and until I see Bradshaw really sharing carries, I'm not considering Wilson, or Brown for that matter, as anything more than handcuff's to Bradshaw.

*-Peyton Hillis didn't practice again today because of his ankle injury and he likely won't play this week again. Even though Shaun Draughn has been limited the last two days because of an ankle issue himself, he is expected to be okay to be Jamaal Charles' backup.

Wide Receivers

*-Percy Harvin was added to the injury report today as being limited with a hamstring issue. Harvin wasn't listed yesterday so it begs the question: did he suffer the injury in practice? We simply don't know at this point, but it's speculated that Harvin should be fine for week 6. Be sure to check out the team by team news and notes on Saturday afternoon I post in my blog here at FFS for the latest on Harvin and what his status for this week is.

*-Greg Jennings didn't practice again today and it's all but a foregone conclusion that he will sit out week 6 because of his lingering groin injury. It's not official that he will definitely miss this week, yet, but I'm expecting it at any time. James Jones should start again in his place.

*-Hakeem Nicks is tentatively expected to be able to play week 6 after missing the last 3 games with his knee and foot issues. However, it's not a sure thing yet. And even if Nicks does play he clearly isn't back to 100%. Temper enthusiasm for Nicks if he does play as he likely will be limited.

*-Andre Johnson practiced in full today and his groin injury is nothing to worry about. He'll be fine for week 6.

*-Demaryius Thomas was limited in practice today with a minor hip injury. He's currently fully expected to be fine for Monday night's matchup against the Chargers.

*-Wes Welker was limited in practice again today but he's still fully expected to be fine despite a minor ankle injury.

*-Jerome Simpson took part in a limited practice today for Minnesota. Simpson has a back injury that causes him some foot problems, but he is tentatively expected to play this week. However, while the matchup is sweet, I'd be hesitant to rely on him after he pulled a disappearing act week 5.

*-Another day, another day with no practice for Cleveland's trio of WR's Mohamed Massaquoi, Travis Benjamin, and Jordan Norwood. Massaquoi and Benjamin both have hamstring injuries and appear doubtful to play this week. Norwood has a foot injury and he's wearing a boot. It's believed Norwood could miss a few weeks with the as of yet undisclosed foot injury. Expect the Browns to probably call up Josh Cooper from their practice squad to give them 4 healthy WR's for this week's game against Cincinnati. Josh Gordon gets a chance to show last week wasn't a fluke and another solid performance from the rookie could catapult him past Massaquoi in the starting lineup even when Massaquoi eventually gets healthy. Gordon is a guy to grab and stash on fantasy benches.

*-The Chiefs Jonathan Baldwin missed practice today because of a hamstring issue. He was limited yesterday so either they are being very careful with him or he is heading to being OUT for week 6. I wouldn't recommend Baldwin as a fantasy option even if he plays this week.

Tight Ends

*-Martellus Bennett was able to practice some today. That's a good sign for him being able to play this week, but likely we won't know for sure until Sunday whether he'll be active or not. Even if active, I'd be dubious of starting Bennett as he clearly won't be at full strength with his knee injury.

*-Both Rob Gronkowski (hip) and Aaron Hernandez (ankle) were limited in practice again today. Gronk should be fine for his usual amount of snaps this week as he has played the last 2 games with the hip, and Hernandez is tentatively expected to be okay to play this week, but could be limited some in his first action since sustaining the ankle injury back in week 2.

*-Brandon Pettigrew was limited in practice again today. While it's good he's not been held out because of his knee issue, it's a bit concerning that he is limited at all coming off the bye week.

*-Jermichael Finley didn't practice today and if he doesn't practice tomorrow, I doubt if he'll play this week. Finley has a shoulder injury and if he doesn't play, it's believed D.J. Williams would be the Packers pass catching TE. But there's also Tom Crabtree and Ryan Taylor who could be involved too.
