Hopefully, this week I'm a little better than my NFL playoffs fantasy rankings last week. I certainly didn't see Matt Hasselbeck having such a huge game. Or Marshawn Lynch being so big. And those who have read this blog over this past season know that I've been a big fan of James Starks as a fantasy football sleeper, but why did it take until the playoffs before the Packers finally turned him loose? Certainly didn't think he was going to set a new Packers post-season rushing record. How about Greg Jennings and his 1 catch for 8 yards or Dwayne Bowe being non-existent? These were some dismal performances.

Of course, I was glad to be right on a few. Pierre Garcon as a better play than Reggie Wayne. Julius Jones being solid against his former team. Mediocrity from Reggie Bush.

Let's see how I do this week with my NFL Playoff fantasy rankings for the Divisional round.

QB's

There is a clear cut #1. I really like Cutler and Rodgers as well. Ryan could be a sneaky play despite a poor matchup and at least won't hurt his owners with a bad game. Roethlisberger is a prime fantasy sleeper this week. Not hopeful at all for the bottom 3.

1) Tom Brady
2) Aaron Rodgers
3) Jay Cutler
4) Matt Ryan
5) Ben Roethlisberger
6) Joe Flacco
7) Matt Hasselbeck
8) Mark Sanchez

RB's

Some great names with some tough matchups. Forte at the top has the matchup and the talk is the Bears will run the ball more. BGE is just a TD machine and if the Pats get a lead he'll be used to wear the Jets down and chew up the clock. Turner is boom or bust this week depending on whether the Falcons have a lead or are trailing. Mendenhall and Rice are both all purpose types of RB's who have really bad matchups. Starks is a big unknown. Was last week a fluke? Or a sign of things he is capable with those fresh legs at this critical time of the season? I expected Greene to be better than Tomlinson last week but it certainly seemed to me that the Jets were purposely making sure they got LT those TD's instead of Greene. Lynch was having a lousy game last week until his one big run and I doubt he'll have similar success against the Bears. Snelling is the big question later as he is much more valuable for Atlanta than Turner if the Falcons are playing from behind.

1) Matt Forte
2) BenJarvus Green-Ellis
3) Michael Turner
4) Rashard Mendenhall
5) Ray Rice
6) James Starks
7) LaDainian Tomlinson
8) Marshawn Lynch
9)  Brandon Jackson
10) Danny Woodhead
11) Shonn Greene
12) Jason Snelling

WR's

Back in April last year before the NFL Draft I mentioned Mike Wallace as a fantasy football sleeper and he has exceeded all expectations. He is dangerous and has proven to be matchup proof. Jennings should bounce back. Both Branch and Welker enjoyed great success against the Jets the last time they played and with the different places they both line up each play it'll be hard again for the Jets secondary to account for both. Knox has a great matchup and we're still waiting for that breakout game from him and it could come this week. White has been awesome this year but less so since his knee injury back in week 9 and the matchup is not good. Everyone after that is a big mish-mash of potential that cold surprise, or disappoint.

1) Mike Wallace
2) Greg Jennings
3) Deion Branch
4) Wes Welker
5) Johnny Knox
6) Roddy White
7) Santonio Holmes
8) Mike Williams
9) Hines Ward
10) Anquan Boldin
11) Devin Hester
12) Donald Driver
13) Derrick Mason
14) Braylon Edwards
15) Jordy Nelson
16) Ben Obomanu

TE's

Gronkowski has developed into a great TE and reliable. The return of Hernandez could hurt him some though as you just don't know what to expect when both are playing. Gonzalez is steady and has upside. After that I have concerns. I like Olsen's matchup; Heap has a lousy matchup but has been rock solid; Keller could finally step up and surprise; Miller is mediocre or nothing; Carlson was a surprise last week but I doubt it happens again.

1) Ron Gronkowski
2) Tony Gonzalez
3) Aaron Hernandez
4) Greg Olsen
5) Todd Heap
6) Dustin Keller
7) Heath Miller
8) John Carlson

K's

1) Robbie Gould
2) Shayne Graham
3) Mason Crosby
4) Matt Bryant
5) Shaun Suisham
6) Billy Cundiff
7) Olindo Mare
8) Nick Folk

D/ST's

1) Bears
2) Patriots
3) Steelers
4) Ravens
5) Packers
6) Falcons
7) Seahawks
8) Jets

The Problem with this year in making picks is the same problem we see here Russ.. The blind eye to the truth that when we the people believe so much in the past actions or past records that they fail to see the the possibles of whats next..

Example: Saints and Seahawks vs the last five games.. Seahawks had the Better rushing attack.. Proved by Lynch,, Saints knew that and tried to stop that rushing attack and yet opened the Passing Lanes for Hasselback.. Proven by the big day..
Rankings for me are:

Patriots, Packers, Ravens and Seahawks
All will win this week and be appropriatley in the Divisional Matchups Reguardless of how they get there.. Momentum is a biotch.... Number 6 seed in past years have proven this about Momentum..
3 road teams and 1 Home Team is the way to go this week...
Went 3 -1 last week with Colts being my missed pick.

But when it comes to prognostication, you can't help to look at previous match ups of the two teams. On paper, the Saints should have dominated the Seahawks, but maybe the 12th fan and the home field advantage game Seattle what they needed to put them over the hump.

The Saints had nothing but injuries in the backfield from Bush getting hurt and returning to Ivory doing a solid job, but coming up lame and PT going down numerous time. Can't see Julius Jones being a long term solution, but was a good fill in last weekend in the Saint loss.

Momentum can play a huge factor! Seattle definitely had it swinging their way early last week, in the passing game with Hass, rushing the ball and on defense. They were able to keep the game close and then took advantage of it and in the end put up the 'W'. What else could you ask for?

I like Seattle this week as well. Take nothing away from CHI or how well they have performed this year, but I think they have been a Jekyll & Hyde team all year long and their record, while 11-5 is a bit jaded. Their rushing game was ranked 22nd in the NFL, while their passing game was worse at 28th! But you cannot argue with 11 wins and a division title.

I think SEA has their work cut out for them, on the road Sunday. Hopefully we see the same fire and desire we saw against the Saints, becuase if we do, it could be a long day for Chicago and another victory for Seattle.
