Hello,

My draft analyzer says QB Arron Rodgers is the 5th best pick. I've only been playing Fantasy Football for a few years but have NEVER picked a QB until rounds 2 or 3. With a QB heavy draft this year, is there any reason I should actually pick Rodgers with the 5th pick if he is avaialbel?? My experience tells me to draft RB RB, should I ignore my gut and go QB with the 5ht pick???? If I should go RB, RB than why is Rodgers so high on my draft sheet?

Thanks

You are looking at the value based drafting tables. Do not use that to draft. Use the tier groups for drafting players.

Yes, I would draft RB RB the first two rounds no matter what type of league I was in except if you start two QB's.

Thanks for the response-

When I project the following 3 scenerios by round, 5th pick, I get the following point totals;

1: QB RB RB Rodgers,MJD, Gore 887

2: RB QB RB Foster,Brady,Gore 880

3: RB RB QB Foster,MJD,Kaepernick 869

Each scenerio is VERY close with QB RB RB scoring the most points and RB RB QB scores the lowest. Why is this?

Thanks

Because QB's almost always score the most points in just about every league.

However, between the top scoring RB's and the bad R'B's, the point difference is extreme.

Since there are more RB's and WR slots to fill it just makes more sense to draft RB's and WR's first. Those positions are the base power of your team and should be addressed first in the draft. YOu need at least three stud RB's to compete, especially since injuries always crop up in the running back groups. They take a pounding more than anyone on a football team.

I only look at the value based draft tables to look at schedule strength Use the tier drafting system and you will be fine in your draft.

A safe thing to do is to get two rb's and two WR's in the first 4 rounds.

What I have been normally doing this year is drafting RB, RB, anchor WR, then Rb in the 4th round to insure that I have a superior RB base.

If you want to draft QB or Jimmy Graham in the first couple of rounds I hope you will be thrilled with McFadden as your number 1 RB.

This only applies to 10 and 12 team leagues.
